SEE ABILITY: DOWN SYNDROME AND EMPLOYMENT
Please join the DSNMC for a panel discussion on Down syndrome and employment.
Through a grant funded by the Arc of Maryland, DSNMC conducted research to clarify the roles, tasks, and job responsibilities that individuals with Down syndrome are doing successfully in the workplace. We gathered this data through focus groups comprised of people with Down syndrome and interviews with their employers/supervisors. By identifying and marketing the skill sets that individuals with Down syndrome currently use on the job, we aim to increase their employability and improve their employment.
This panel discussion is appropriate for parents, guardians, employers, teachers and school administrators, Self-advocates and anyone interested in learning more about this topic.
